Privacy policy

VJ TRIP AI is provided as a proof of concept (PoC). Last updated: 22 October 2026

What we collect

  • Anonymous usage events: page views, guides played, number of questions asked, and so on. They are stored with a random device ID (UUID) that is never linked to your name or email.
  • Questions you ask the AI, its answers, and your ratings (👍, 👎, “report wrong content”), to check and improve quality.
  • IP address: converted into an irreversible hash and kept for at most one hour, only to enforce the question limit.

What we do not collect

  • Your name, email address, phone number or other personal details.
  • Your location: GPS is used only on your device to list nearby sights and to tell you when you arrive. It is never sent to our server.

Use of AI

AI answers and itinerary suggestions are generated by DeepSeek (a company based in China) and/or Claude by Anthropic (a company based in the United States), which may also check answers against our verified data. Only your question and the ID of the sight you are viewing are sent — never your location or device ID. Please do not include personal information in questions.

How long we keep data

  • Questions and answers: 180 days
  • Usage events: 1 year
  • IP address hash: at most 1 hour

Data on your device

Settings, saved itineraries and offline downloads stay on your device. You can delete them at any time in Settings → “Delete data on this device”.

Advertising

Links marked “Ad” open partner websites. We count how often each link is opened.
